For some time now, I have been looking for a small java-script file to embed Flash content. And here I found the answer! I will try immediately if it is as 'easy-to-use and standards-friendly' as you claim and I will come back soon with my feedback. Thanks for sharing!

Hey Geoff - congrats to you and Bobby, and my condolences regarding Mike - so sad. I seriously owe you a round of beers or something, SWFobject has saved me so much time and hassles on projects the last year or longer (2 years now?) At least the next time we share a shuttle to the airport, I’m paying. ;) All the best! Rob http://www.foxoyun.net

Hey Geoff,

Thanks for the tip. Oh, I just wanted to say, I was cracking up yesterday when I downloaded your swfobject generator...I actually mistakenly downloaded it thinking I was getting your swfobject.js and when I clicked on the .html page for the generator, I about fell out of my chair laughing. I was thinking "Man if it wasn't easy enough, now I can fill in a form and just about have my whole deal ready to go!!".

Also, I've never had a problem with the Adobe Flex set up, but I just like how much more elegant your swfobject is. Cleaner seperation... I was going to clean up the Adobe set up yesterday and then I remembered the swfobject (I haven't been doing anything in flash for a while so I forgot all about it).

Ok, thanks again.

I've never used the flex version of that. I'd recommend using SWFAddress instead, as it will update the url along with the swf state, so it's a bit more user friendly.

Hey Geoff, have you had any problems with the swfobject 2.0 and the history.js+historyFrame.html that is automatically built for you with Flex apps? I was reading over here http://aralbalkan.com/912#comment-136334 and I was having a problem as well. When I delted the history.js reference in the head, i had no more problem. But since i don't get that problem when I run the Adobe AC_OETags.js group...I just thought maybe there is something there... I dunno.
