    I am completely sunk by all this. I have a perfectly satisfactory SlideShowPro HTML document with a flash movie embedded, plus the flash8 detection code. I now want to upgrade this and use swfobject to get the advantages that Geoff claims. Looking at the deconcept site, I see plenty of examples with little snippets of code but no explanation of where they should all go in the HTML page or what they should replace of the flash8 code. I have stared at it for hours but can't work it out.

    Can someone help me please in non techspeak? One useful thing would be an example of a complete HTML page with a simple instance of the swfobject code in place.

    Sorry this is so basic but I have to start somewhere.

    there are complete html examples in the swfobject zip file - have a look at those and compare the vars to the things in the default flash embed code.
