flash transparency over WMP or QT player

    Hi. My question isn't really specific to the SWFObject. I tried doing this both ways:
    I'm trying to build a page that shows movie clips in quicktime/windows media player. But above the clips played i want to place my own GUI which is flash based. I've prepared a flash application which is transparent. I've placed it over text or a regular image and it's transparent., but when i place it over a quicktime or wmp embed, the player (QT/WMP) always steals the focus, hiding the flash GUI.
    I tried using both iframes and DIV to place the players one above the other, and the z-index values are OK (as i said, when i replaced the movie with a regular jpg it was fine, only the movies teal the focus).
    I tried looking for a website that implemented this type of thing, or to google anyone who had the same issue.. It's puzzilng to me that this happens both with WMP and with quicktime player.
    Would appreciate your assistance.
